Girl Scout membership cost $12 a year. Our girl scout membership year is from October 1st through September 30th. You can join girl scouts at any time of the year and the cost will be $12. There is always financial aide available to help subsidize or cover the registration cost for girls and volunteers if needed.
Other (optional) costs that are associated with girl scouts include vest, program books, and program event fees. However, there are programs that help to cover these costs. The Girl Scout Cookie Sale, is a money earning activity that Girl Scouts participate in to help with troop and program costs. The Nut Sale is another money-earning opportunity the girls have to earn money in the fall. Since girl scouts have the opportunity to participate in 2 product sales, Cookies and Nuts, the must complete these before any other money earning activities like a car wash or bake sale. There are also programs like "Uniform Exchange" and "Lending Libraries" that Service Units provide that help local girl scouts have access to program books and lightly used uniform- which now is considered a Vest.
